We are thrilled to announce that starting in January 2025, Brackenfell Shotokan Karate Academy will officially launch Kobudo classes! 🥋✨![]()

Kobudo, a traditional Okinawan martial art using weapons, is a fantastic addition to our academy's training program. It offers a new challenge and an opportunity to deepen your martial arts journey.![]()

💥 What to Expect:![]()
• The first two weapons we will learn are the Bo (Long Weapon) and Nunchucks (Short Weapon).![]()
• Our Kobudo style, Kokusai Rengokai - Okinawa Kobudo, will be incorporated into our academy.![]()

We’re excited to welcome Sensei JP van Heerden as our Head Kobudo Instructor, bringing his expertise to help guide us on this new journey. ![]()

On Friday, 13 December, we hosted our Annual Prize Giving and End-Year Function, and what a night it was! While others in the area may try their best to keep up (imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, after all 😉), there’s simply no match for the Brackenfell Shotokan Karate Academy vibe!![]()
